A directory with an editor, not an algorithm.
appokk is a list of 66 tools, kept by hand. Every entry was opened, used for a real task, and written up in one sentence. Nothing here is ranked by bid.
What gets in
A tool has to clear four bars before it earns a card:
- We actually used it. Not a landing page, not a demo video — an actual piece of work.
- It solves one problem well. Products that do everything tend to do the thing we needed badly.
- It is still maintained. If the last commit or changelog entry is two years old, it stays out.
- The free tier is usable. If the only honest way to evaluate it is a credit card, that gets said on the card.
What does not get in
Sponsored slots. Paid placement. Affiliate links dressed up as recommendations. Crypto anything. AI wrappers with no product behind them. And tools that ask for your Google account before showing you what they do.
How it stays current
The list is reviewed roughly monthly. Tools get removed when they shut down, get acquired and gutted, or quietly move their best feature behind an enterprise plan. A directory that only grows is not curated — it is just a dump.
Who is behind it
appokk is a side project of the team behind ChinaTravelDay, which is where most of the travel category comes from — those are the tools we use to plan and run trips, not tools we read about.
Corrections
Wrong URL, dead product, description that aged badly — email hello@appokk.com and it gets fixed. Corrections are free and always will be.
